Sesame Seeds, Black
Black sesame seeds are not hulled, which gives them a bolder, and less sweet flavour and a slightly crunchier texture. Sesame seeds are used in baked goods and sweet and savoury dishes throughout the world. In their raw state, sesame seeds are pleasant but quite bland; toasted, they become intensely nutty and rich. An important factor in choosing between white and black sesame is appearance the contrast between pale foods and black sesame seeds is lovely. Sesame is high in healthy fats, calcium, protein and anti-oxidants.
